Please join us on Wednesday, April 11 from 5 to 6pm in Bavaro Hall’s Holloway Hall (Room 116) for a talk with Managing Vice President of Machine Learning Transformation Nitzan Mekel-Bobrov, of Capital One, where he is an expert in machine learning for forecasting, segmentation, and fraud detection.

Mr. Mekel-Bobrov will discuss data science approaches in business that have been particularly effective for Capital One and the banking industry. He was formerly the Global Director of Statistics and Data Science at Boston Scientific Corporation. A thought leader in the use of “big data” across the healthcare industry, he worked to develop novel statistical models and machine learning algorithms to drive medical innovation. He holds a Ph.D. in Statistical Genetics and Computational Genomics from the University of Chicago and is on the National Council of the World Wildlife Fund.
